Just the GYST of it.
The "Gist" is the real point of an action and that is what we are getting at in this volume of Full Disclosure Friday. Awhile ago I became obsessed with Kalyn Nicholson's Gyst day vlogs on YouTube. Her GYST(Get Your Shit Together) day was in a sense preparing for the work week ahead. The only problem is, I am not a twenty something, living the single life. I am a fifty something year old wife, mom of five, grandma of two, just can't say no to work, church or community service. In order to make my dreams come true I need to GYST twice daily. Most people call these morning and evening routines but seriously I like the term GYST because, well, that's exactly what it is.
Last weekend I created my routines, wrote them in my planner and carefully stored my planner in my work bag so I can pull it out and review it each day. I completed some of my routine actions but the planner did not see the light of day. It stayed in my work bag like a dirty little secret. This week I am going to create a checklist in my morning journal to see if that will create success.
As I move forward creating action, I will learn what will keep me disciplined. What are your goals? What do you need to do to GYST?
